Hello Min, thank you for sharing pics from that great country that we beaders do love :)

Have you been to any of the beadfactories? If so, if they allowed you to take pictures I hope you will share them to :)

I just read that you live in China, then you must be able to show us a lot of interesting things.

It is always interesting to see what kind of special beads (and other items) there are out there.

I missed your text when you showed us the first picture here, please tell us more.

My mother-in-law is big fan of beads and pearls. With her interest, we found out some nice places to have a look and buy a lot too.

The first pics here are crystal beads. They are lovely and we bought them in Lijiang, not far from Chengdu since there are direct flights between Chengdu and Lijiang.

I have some more pics here. They are beads and pearls. They were bought in Beijing wholesale markets. But they are not very cheap. I guess there are more people who are interested in beads and pearls now in China and abroad.Glad

Nice to get in contact with you, Minfisken.

Thanks for all your pics. They make me want to live in China. Glad

Please, let me know, how come you found this forum?

So, you live in China? You love beading? Have some sites with good tutorials?

Hej guys, to find this site is interesting story. My husband is Swedish and he is one of big fans of models. He is hanging around on this site. And then his parents come to visit us in Chengdu, where I and my husband live now. His mom loves to do handcrafts with beads and pearls. I just helped her to find the places where they sell beads and pearls cheaper.

First is Beijing. There is a big wholesale market selling beads and pearls, at least one market in Beijing, I think. And then we travelled to southwest of China, Yunnan province. To surprise us, there are many kinds of beads too. Amazing to see!

I like beads too, even I dont do handcrafts with them. But their colors are awesome.

Yes I live in Chengdu, China now with my husband.

Hi LeeAnne, what do you mean about tutorials? Could you explain more?

Thanks you guys for sharing your opinions with me here.Glad

By the way, I am teaching English here in Chengdu. I will have summer camp starting from the day after tomorrow. I want to share the information from my English summer camp with others. Do you guys have any ideas where to find the sites to share teaching and learning experiences?

Thank you very much.

I need to know what you want and then I need to see if I can find out them here.

The only thing I am worried about is to deliver beads and pearls to Sweden. They are sold cheaperly here, but when considering the delivery charge to Sweden, I dont know how much cheaper they will be since beads and pearls are heavy.

Do you have any ideas?

minfisken Ilook at the drawing your pupils draw on your side! So fun to see! (But you have to tell them… the tower of Eiffel is NOT in Sweden… it´s in France!)

His parents just left this morning back to Sweden home. His mon bought a lot this time for herself. A lot, and then we need to wait for the next year, maybe we will go back to visit them next year. One year!

Shipping is the cheapest way, I think so too. But it takes longer time, maybe more than 15days, I am not sure about this. I dont know if any beads lovers can wait for this longer time.

Beadlovers who are waiting for cheap and beautiful beads are a pacient kind of people :D

Sometimes it can take much longer than 15 days and still we love the beads when they get here :)

Interesting to see the pics your pupils have made. Are you going to teach them about Sweden?  The idea that Sweden has a lot of people is very wrong and yes, the big tower John has drawn is Tour d'Eiffel in Paris, France. Hope you will update your blog regularly.

In what town do your parents of law live?

Is it OK to have your mail address?

By the way, do you understand (but not write) Swedish or are you and your husband speaking English/Chinese?

#27, hi, my husband's parents-in-law live in Linkoping. Sorry there is no "o" with two points on my keyboard.Skäms I have been there to visit them several times. And this year it is their turn to visit us in China. This was also their first time to China. I guess they are certainly impressed, especiallyy by various kinds of beads and pearls.Glad

Yes, I will keep update my blog. There are really interesting things to show and share with you all here. I already told the kids about their paintings. That is nice to see how they think about Sweden, and it is kind of they are drawing about China.Glad

With my husband, we speak English. I am learning Swedish little by little. And he is learning Chinese little by little too. I want to understand what his friends and parents and the others are talking about when we go back to Sweden again. It is fun to learn some new language. Since I work as interpreter, I guess I love learning different languages. I am learning French too.

This is my email address: minfreya@hotmail.com

It is my husband who showed me this website. I want to do something I always like, for example, to teach English, to introduce Chinese cultures and traditions and to exchange with foreign cultures, and to introduce Chinese kids about foreign education, like universities, and to take pictures. So one day he said to me to try this website. Glad

Thanks for all of you here again.

In the picture, the above are attached with some beads for hair decoration. If you make a knot of your hair, then you may use this as decoration.

The lower stuff is for cell phone decoration or just hang it around your handbag. The bottom to the fish is a little bell. We like attatch little bells to some decorations. I guess then we wont get lost since bells help the people to find us.Flört

Emo, that website is nice and you have already done it very good.

Miuljo, girls here use hair decorations often. Some of hair decorations are made of silver. The hair decoration is from a long time ago. Ancient girls did use a lot of it and I see this often from TV soaps.Glad

I would like to introduce you some bead made in Chinese tradional process.

Carved lacquer ware is one of the traditional arts and crafts in China. The technique involves applying natural lacquer, either red or black, on a wooden surface, then engraving delicate designs on the lacquer.

The ancient craftsmanship of carved lacquer originated in the Tang Dynasty (618-907) in today's Sichuan and Yunnan provinces.
