What do you think my posts on buying beads
I was surprised when I was blocked to some forum because my post were commercials.
I am wondering if it is not offensive to put any informations about something different and special from other cultures and then offer the opportunities to buy those.
Could you give me any ideas? If English can make this world smaller and easier to communicate, how comes anythings about introducing and offering become offensive to some rules here.
Thanks for your opinions.
If you post commercial in some forum you will be blocked because not all "sajtvärdar"/hosts allows commercial. Some allows commercial if the sajt is about what you selling. But there is only one way too be sure if they allow your commercial post - pm:a the "sajtvärd"/host before you writes about that you are selling something.
Thank for your words. I felt really offended because the host did not inform me about that rule. Of course I understand that. I wont put any posts about selling if it is not ok.
If this is one free country, how do you treat foreign people?
The sites here in this network is often described like a party, were the owner of the site is the host and everyone is welcome to their party.
If the host does´nt like something they have total control of what stays and what goes.
I think it´s fun to windowshop beads and if I can do it on my own site I´m fine with it. Someday we might be buying to :D
But not everyone is as "forgiving" as me, some deletes everything more or less, and it´s their site so the people on it adabt.
But yes, it´s rude to not tell someone why the post was deleted.
But as I said, Its h*s party :)

The sitehosts decides self how they want to interpret the rules and the swedish words. As long as they not break any laws they can behave as bad as they want. Luckily we have a very nice friendly host on this site, so we are a lot of people feeling well here.
In every country you can find people, who aren't as nice as you want them to be. The same can be said about iFokus, not all sitehosts are as nice as they should be. Be glad you have met us :-)

I feel much better now after reading all your opinion. And I am glad that I met you here, the host of this party and the people who are sharing with in this party too.
I totally agree with the "party" rule and understand it is necessary to keep the rules strict and straight too. So if you dont like me to have "selling" stuffs here, you may tell me too.
But I dont think to sell is my interest. However, I am glad to be here to exchange cultures from my country with you. My husband is not fond of teaching me Swedish. "You dont go to Sweden, you dont need this language," and since you all can speak good English, I think so far I am fine with telling my discoverises in China as Chinese. I also use google to translate your posts to see how it is going on now. It is interesting to get to know this country for me from my husband, his family, his friends, and you guys here too.
Sometimes I feel it is difficult to get myself involved to this party, or others, because I am Chinese, not speaking Swedish.
I wish this is one of international parties too.
Thank you again, very much

I've been a member of many forums and most of them do have rules against commercials. They are not the same, but generally it's considered rude to use a forum only (or mainly) as an free advertising board, that it is to take advantage of the forum. This is a very forgiving forum in that respect.
It's not such a big deal in many swedish forums, but I've been a memeber on american forums where every now and then new (foreign) members arrive that only has one goal: to get some free ad space and not actually participating in the forum. Some might be serious vendors without the alternative to do conventional advertising, others are just out to make a few buck of unsuspecting people. Sometimes this type of commerical posts can almost surmount the number of other (active) posts. And that's an annoyance if nothing else.
And when a certain number of people does this, forum member and owners get tired and the rules get stricter to prevent this misuse. And that can unfortuntly lead to innocent people and posts being treated in a way that's perceived as unfair or overly harsh.
Meanwhile most forums rely on payed ads (see the ones on the right) and it can also become a conflict where these advertisers say: hey, why do we have to pay while that company can advertise for free? What if I too do that: no ad, just writing about my stuff in the forum? That would in the end -- taking it to the extreme -- mean no paying advertisers and no money to maintain the website. Forum owners don't want that scenatio. So in certain forums you can see that the companies doing plugs for themselves are the same as the paying advertisers.
That said, I do believe a deleted message always should be followed up by an explainatory note. One can't presume everyone is familiar with the general netiquette. A host or moderator should be professional in dealing with these issues and not making presumptions that the member understands that his or her post are violating the forum rules or general etiquette.

6#, like the host of this group, or party, I am not blocked out because I did post some commercials here. Because of the host here, I have more chances to share stuffs with everyone here.
But it is not completely wrong to discover this "rude" reaction in another group, because I get to know what is and how is going on. It is good to know and then I can have better time with everyone here or any other forums.
I have to say some of my posts are commercials for true. But like I always say I am not businessman. Anyway it is not bad to know the rules.
I was angry because I should be informed by the host. I respect everyone, and I do wish it is your etiquette to respect others too, no matter where they come from, which languages they speak.
For me, I appreciate the opportunities here to share my interests and my countries with foreigners. So I do not want to distroy this nice wish or image.
I do understand the host needs to stick to his or her rules and of course I respect this.
I guess I know who deleted your post and you are not the first one and surely not the last.

in any case minfisken, you should not take it personal - it has nothing at all to do with you as a person or your nationality.
postings that could be perceived as advertisements will probably be deleted from most forum sites though, for the reasons mentioned by maneki in #6, and then if it´s done with a polite explanation or not depends completely on the owner/host of that forum - and if you feel harshly or even rudely treated in one forum you can be certain others will have experienced the same there
.

I think that when the use of iFokus is paid by the commercials, it make sense that businesses must pay for their announcements.
I guess that this is the reason why some hosts block you.
I understand his or her behaviour to delete and block me from that group. As kissidor said, I should not take this personally. The question is about what kind of person he or she is.
I am glad to have the nicer host here to accept my commercials here for this long time. I am not going to abuse this friendliness and kindness any more after all of you telling me the reasons. I will not post anything commercial again, even here, but I will keep introducing you kinds of aspects of China and Chinese culture.
Actually I am not a craftman, but I would like to introduce the people here who are good at handcrafts, sharing with you their experiences and their daily life too. I would like to do real exchangement. Maybe try to understand Swedish more. But you know, google does not work good all the time and my husband still insists Swedish is not useful for me.
Thanks for your supporting and understanding.

and we are glad to have you here min
, it´s interesting to read the things you share with us about your country´s crafts and designs. it´s just a pity you aren´t able to read all our posts that might interest you, but as you know there are many here who are willing to speak with you on different subjects and answer your questions and musings.
and you can still keep the "commercial" info and links on your own page, right
?
Swedish is useful for you. If you lern an other language, you will at the same time, learn about an other way of thinking and that is something good.
Because your husband is swedish, you "have to" learn this wonderful language :-)
You have the advantage of speaking one of the languages with the pronounciaton that make swedish so difficult to people speaking many other languages. I mean how you stress a word. We have two ways and you have four.

But no one here have any objection minfisken. If you create 1 thread and put pictures of some of what you are selling in this thread and links to where people can look further for what they are interested in it´s ok. But you dont have too create many threads of selling objects - one is enough. And we hope of course that you contninues too contribute with your delicious jewelry and pearls from your country and showing us wonderful things and artworks from your culture.

I fully agree with this. You are allowed to inform us about what you can sell and where we can buy it. So presenting work from China and say that we can buy things like it on your page is allowed. So we are looking forward to see more.
I think that al actions should be explained, it is rude not to explaine why you do someting. Unfortunately I think some swedish is uncertan of english and awoid using the language.
I think it could bee fun fore you to learn swedish, tell your husband that you want to wissit us here in Sweden and then you need to know some(that is a good reason dont you think?).

Vad ska man ha som signatur tro?
The great thing about you acting as middleman in transactions with the chinese is that we do not have to buy so much as we have to do if we go to Pandahall ect.

Haha, Pandahall, interesting to be heard.
About learning Swedish, it does sound strange to me, and it is also different from English and French, (I am learning French now). But it is interesting to learn some new language, like you said, Emo, it is great to get to know about the culture and tradition too while learning languages. So I will try to know more, then read your posts more and understand more, it will be great fun to have some discoveries here, more and more.
My husband read all the posts here and then I guess, he will tell me something more about Swedish words after this. Your idea works, I guess, leja
.
Thanks for Cessy's advice and the others of you, I will keep present you more and if you are interested, you know where to find me.
Thanks again
